We have invited Missionary Haeyoung Kim as a speaker in this week's 'Mission Festival' event at our church. She is a rising star in Korea right now. She has been featured in many magazines and media ever since she first appeared in one of morning show program of KBS TV in Korea. She is also an author of a recently published book and is getting lots of attentions and is a popular guest in numerous lectures and convocations. The House church (Mokjang) I used to serve as a shepherd has been supporting her ministry for a long time and that is how we could invite such a popular speaker.

The fasting for the whole church started last Monday. As far as the sign up goes, 875 out of 970 fasting spots have been filled. Not a day has gone where nobody has signed in and most of the empty spots are for December which means that they will most likely be filled in the end. Some have signed up on multiple days while some have split one day of fasting amongst themselves for health reasons. I think it is safe to say that almost all of the congregation members are participating in this event. I am going print out and post it until the day when it ends.
As I mentioned, if it is not your turn to fast, please pray two times a day in the morning and ...

One of the visiting pastors mentioned to me one time that when he visited several Mokjangs at our church, he noticed each Mokja lead Mokjang in slightly different style. He asked if such discrepancies were alright or if church should establish some ground rules for all to follow. I asked what he meant by it because we clearly have Mokjang meeting procedures in place. There have been some changes in my life since I became a senior pastor and I would like to let you know some of the major ones. At the end of last year, I stepped down from Mokja (Shepard) position of Guruturgi Mokjang (House church), which I had served for 12 years. I handed the Mokjang over to one of the Mokjang member at the time and he must have done a better job than I since it is about double the size after less than a year. I continued my position as a village leader even after I stopped serving as Mokja, but I let the position go as well last July. The new village leader wishes to serve his position well and attends early Morning Prayer every ...

Just as I have mentioned during the past few sermons, I would like to start the new beginning of our church with prayers. First is the 97 days of relay fasting and prayer by the whole congregation, and second is the recruitment of 333 prayer members and service prayer members. The sign up for the relay fasting and prayer starts today and ends next Sunday. Place your name on the dates you would like to participate on the fasting schedule posted on the right side of the bulletin boxes. A maximum of 10 members can participate in one particular day, which means there are 970 lines available for sign-up. However, because I have filled out every Tuesday for ...
