I never thought that my eyes were small for being an Asian man. In fact, I was convinced that they were average or a little above average. However, throughout this year, especially as I was getting my eyes treated by my cataract surgeon, I have come to accept that my eyes are indeed small. When I go to his office and sit in front of his apparatus, he tells me to open my eyes. So I do my best to open them as much as I can. But then, he often uses his fingers to open my eyelids even more so he can see inside my eye! I never laughed out loud in his office but I can't ...

I had a good trip to Nicaragua. Missionary SangKun Lee set up a mission center in front of three newly developed villages and was planning out how to help develop the area centered on the new villages. I felt very comfortable because he was not rushing into things but taking time to setup everything. Because he had served in the region for a while, he has the inner knowledge to establish a great direction. I really hope that this work of developing the region that fits the local needs goes well, and can become a sample for other villages. But I felt a need for a fellow ...

We had a marvelous time serving the community this past Thursday through our annual Fall Festival. We all know the story in regards to what happened to the weather. Weather men and women forecasted even as late as on Wednesday evening that there will be 100% chance of rain on Thursday at 4PM which is the time that we needed the weather to be clear for us to set up and prepare. However, we all prayed asking God to take away the rain and clouds just several hours quicker so we can serve the community. The thought that went through my mind as I was praying for the weather ...

I’ve had full schedules for outside visits since September to the end of October. This week, I attend the 2013 SBTC Annual Meeting and go to Nicaragua, one of our missionary fields. These are the minimum schedules from those I have postponed since last year, but many events happen mostly in September and October. At least, I am grateful I am in Houston on Sundays.
I decided to go for a mission trip every year. I believe that I need to be there to have a dream God will put in my heart. I chose Nicaragua, where our missionary Sanggeun Lee serves, for this year, and ...

On February 11, my wife, Lynette, Caleb, my second son, and Dustin, his friend, on their way to church for their Bible studies, got into a major car accident on Hammerly and Beltway 8. Our car got totaled but other than Lynette getting a fractured rib, everyone was safe. I thank God for His protection over their lives.
On February 19, I was rushed to the hospital because my right eye retina was detached. The surgery went well. More surgeries, such as vitrectomy and cataract surgery, will be done in that eye in the coming months. However, I am thankful because there ...

Last time I visited China, I took some time out of my schedule to stop by Shanghai to visit the historical site of the Korean provisional government during the Japanese occupation of Korea and the memorial hall of Patriot Ahn in Harbin, Jung-Gun. Just being able to visit the office of the Korean provisional government itself was quite a moving experience. Reading about patriots who were martyred while trying to keep the official name of the country alive, awake their people, and prepare for the country’s future through foreign diplomacy while Korea lost its sovereignty ...

Have you ever experienced a deep despair because your loved ones are so far behind in life that they can't seem to catch up? About six years ago, before my mother passed away, I was made aware that my second sister was struggling with a huge credit card debt that she just couldn't get out of on her own. One of my mother's last words to me was to help my sister who was in a dire situation. Therefore, out of love and respect for my dying mother and care and concern for my sister, I committed myself to help her get out of the big mess that she got herself in. I got her ...
