Recently, president Obama claimed, “ISIS is not Islam nor represents Islam. This is clear from the fact the most of their victims are Muslim. Someone who used to be a Muslim, made a speech against president Obama’s words and it was placed on Youtube. Some of you may have watched it, but I do not think that there is any Korean translation for it, so I want to share the story with you.
The speaker’s father was an imam (Islamic pastor) and he practiced Islam for over 20 years. He has a bachelor’s degree in the study of religion and is working on his master’s ...

Last year, during the World Cup in Brazil, the Korean soccer team did not record a single victory. The team and fans were both dejected. However, with the coming of new coach from Germany, Mr. Stielike, the table has turned. In less than 6 months, the Korean team achieved the glorious second place in Asian Cup. In the final, the Korean team was beaten 2-1 by Australia. The goal was working favorably to Australia and the Aussies benefited from their home ground advantage, but the Korean team displayed spirited fight which was quite admirable. In the Bible, we see pastors devoting themselves to God's word, prayer, equipping God's people and providing leadership to church. Therefore, prayer is one of my main responsibilities and I try to take it seriously. It also is one of my great joys in pastoral ministry. I routinely work about 60 hours a week and prayer takes up about 15-20% of my work hours. The rest is approximately divided up 35%, 30% and 15% in the order of God's word, equipping God's people and providing leadership to church.
I use various things to pray for you. Using the prayer request form that I ...

Since pastor’s seminar is coming up, I want to share a tip about house church meeting. When I was a shepherd, I did not serve desert right after dinner. After dinner, the setting is somewhat unorganized trying to clean up and doing the dishes. As soon as things clean up, if desert is served, it is another busy situation where some work to prepare desert and some are busy eating, etc. In this situation, it is difficult to calm down to start the house church program.
In the house church procedure, there are times to be serious and there are times to be relaxed. For ...

I accepted Jesus as my Lord and savior in the spring of 1993. In 1987, I started working for a Korean conglomerate. It was a dream career path for a Korean college graduate. However, a difficult situation at work turned into a crisis of my life. Someone told me, ‘If you have trouble, go before God and pray. He does not ignore our prayers.’ At that time, it was only few weeks since I started attending church. Nevertheless, I started to go dawn prayer meeting and my walk with God started. My prayer was answered exactly 1 year later, but during that time, I had ...

I subscribe to this quarterly journal called "Leadership Journal." In this issue, they are dealing with the topic of "Declutter." Bill Hybels was interviewed by two editors and they addressed the issue of simplifying your life to do all that God has called you to do. They also included an excerpt/story from the book Hybels recently wrote called "Simplify." I made copies of this and put one in each of our team leaders' mailboxes because I wanted them to read it with their wives.
In this short story, Hybels talks about how he had decided to stay home four nights a week ...

The 126th Pastor’s seminar was held in city S of C country C, following the same rules and principles as that of the US. The church where the seminar was held started house churches two and half years ago and showed a very promising future. There were many powerful testimonies from shepherds and their spouses. This church does not have a kitchen so people have to prepare food and deliver it to the church. In spite of that, the joyful spirit of serving members was quite evident.
On Saturday morning, we had a question and answer session for shepherds, and I want to ...
