These days, most of us are involved in the 3 cord prayer, so I want to share something about prayer. In our church, we have many who are starting their walk of faith and there are some VIPs who participate in the 3 cord prayer, so I want to provide some help for them as well.
The basis of prayer is the fact that prayer is communication with God. Just as human relationships are developed by their communication’s depth and frequency, a relationship with God is advanced by the frequency and depth of prayer. Therefore, prayer is not a certain act of dedication like in other religions, but you need to understand that ‘the object of my prayer is a ...

One famous Houston pastor wrote a book titled ‘Become a Better You: 7 Keys to Improving Your life Every Day’ which quickly became a best seller. The main point of the book is to know that God loves us, wants us to be happy and to remove the bitterness in our heart, to realize our value, to have a positive attitude and to choose happiness in life. I read the book. The content was good, but I was somewhat uncomfortable because the illustrations, in my opinion, were too much toward the pursuit of worldly success.
His sermons are along those same lines. Accept oneself in a positive way, love oneself, and do not be disappointed when things do ...

It feels like it was only yesterday that 2014 started, but now it is the end of the year 2014. I want to share with you some numerical results of the year. First, this year as always we worked hard to save souls and the result was 130 accepted Jesus as savior, and 100 were baptized. I can imagine many stories leading to each salvation, God and our church members working together to achieve it through prayer, guidance and service, and it is very pleasing to witness.
During this year, we had 217 new registrations to the church. However, because of many short term visitors, the number of Sunday worshipers was about the same in the range of 1050 to ...

Looking forward to the three cord prayerI know that many of you are looking forward to the upcoming three cord prayer. At the beginning of every year, the three cord prayer of three members per team blesses us with much answered prayers and strong spiritual energy. One reason that I look forward to this prayer meeting is that during the time period it gives me a chance to present a series of sermons based on the selected book and related to an issue from the beginning to the end with a clear conclusion. Often, a sermon can address an issue in a rather limited fashion. However, during the three cord prayer meeting, an issue can be fully addressed ...

The annual New Year’s Eve festival for VIPs and New Year’s Eve worship service are an important part of our church culture. These activities provide a chance for VIPs to come to church for the first time, and the New Year’s Eve worship serves as a good place to resolve any misunderstandings related to worship. Through the New Year’s Eve festival, over 100 VIP annually come to church for the first time and many of them have positive remarks such as ‘I did not know church is such a fun place.
The other side of the New Year’s Eve festival is that it provides a wonderful chance for church members’ hidden gifts and talents to be expressed. ...

It is the season for college graduation. My daughter graduates from college today. She majored in Human development & Family Science: Early Childhood from UT Austin. When she entered college, I recommended her to attend medical school since it is useful for the work of God, so she majored in Biology. However, she did not have a passion for science so after one semester she changed her major. At that time, she said that she could manage studying but she was not happy. When I heard that, I told her to change her major and later she found one she enjoyed studying. She always loved caring for children so after she earns her professional license she ...

I want to share one thing I felt during my recent visit to Mozambique, Africa. The place where missionary Myung Sup Chung ministers is about 30 – 40 minutes’ drive from Maputo, the capital of Mozambique. If poverty is evident in the capital, Maputo, the surrounding area goes without words. There are buses in the main road, but normally, people need to walk about 3-4 Km to their homes. The road is not paved so there are thick layers of dust on the road. The road in the village is made of sand which makes walking difficult- just like walking on the sandy beach. Houses are not of boards but of cement block, but most of them have no windows and ...
