We Now Have New Team Leaders!

One of the main reasons why New Life is able to continue and thrive in its ministry with just one full-time pastor is because we have extremely faithful and committed team leaders.  It is truly astounding how tirelessly they pray for, care about and serve the church with passion and humility.  I consider myself very blessed to have such leaders to work with and build up God’s kingdom together. 

Many of you may not even know that New Life is organized around seven different ministry teams and the seven different leaders who are heading them.  This may be a good opportunity for me to introduce to you the seven teams and also acknowledge those who have been serving as leaders this past year.

These leaders deserve our prayer, love, respect and support for the work they have been doing for God’s kingdom through New Life.  Let’s encourage and express our gratitude to them whenever we get a chance.

As John Choi, our Membership Team leader, is now serving God in Kosovo, there was a need for us to choose someone from the shepherds who would take over his place.  We choose team leaders from among the shepherds because we want New Life to be led by those who love God and cares for people and we trust that our shepherds are such people!  Moreover, since these team leaders have been serving in their respective ministries for the past two years, we now have a better understanding of how each of them are uniquely wired by God to serve in His church.  Therefore, the team leaders, through much prayer and careful consideration, have decided to make some changes in our Leadership Team body.  The criterion that we have used in this process is the team leaders’ “Servant Profile.”  (Those of you who have taken Class 301 will know what I am talking about here!  In short, a person’s “Servant Profile” is determined by one’s passion, personality and spiritual gifts.)

Let me share with you the result.  Membership Team will now be led by Harold Yi, Maturity Team by Daniel Lim, Ministry Team by Peter Lee and Magnification Team by Sean Kim.  Bobby Bang will no longer serve as Magnification Team leader.  Instead, he will serve just as a praise leader under Sean Kim’s leadership.  This will help him focus on music, which is his passion, and also allow him to pursue his career outside church.  The team leaders who are not mentioned here will continue to serve in their ministries as before.

Due to these changes, our team leaders will take the next few months to transition into their new ministries as well as handing off their old ministries to their successors.  Please bear with us for a short time while this takes place.  We will do our best to make these changes as smoothly as possible.

Before I sign off this letter, I would like to make one prayer request to you.  New Life is growing because God is pleased with us and is blessing us.  And it is important that we keep up with what God is trying to accomplish through us.  This means that we need a full-time administrative assistant who can help out with church office work, finance and other tasks.  I need a person who is competent in office work with working computer knowledge and skills who is loyal, hardworking and flexible.  A very difficult prayer request, huh?  Please pray for this and let me know if you know someone who fits this description.
