House Church Seminar for Pastors

Hear from Pastors, Shepherds, Shepherdsʼ wives, and congregation members about how House Church has transformed their lives

House Church Seminar Objectives:

We help churches and pastors who share the common dream to establish their house church ministry well.
We provide coaching to pastors so that they can build God’s church through their lay leaders.
We help churches regardless of their denominations or differences.
We actively support churches in strategic locations for planting of house church or converting to house church.
We assist churches that have already adopted house church by providing them with analysis, evaluation, and consultation.

Seminar Dates: February 13, 2024- February 18, 2024

Cost

The cost of the seminar, including food and lodging, is $200 per individual and $300 for couples. We recommend that couples attend the seminar together. However, we will return your registration fee to you upon completion of the Seminar. We are committed to House Church ministries.

How to send in the deposit

From USA: Please send the check (pay to the order of New Life Fellowship) in the amount of $200 per person or $300 per couple.

From non-US locations: Please send a full copy of your purchased and confirmed airfare receipt/itinerary to seminar@nlfhouston.org.

Registrations for which the deposit is not received within 5 business days will be subject to cancellation. We will email you a confirmation email after we have received your deposit.

We strongly recommend that you do not purchase an airline ticket until you receive the confirmation email.

Important Notes about the Seminar – Please Read

Only members of churches where the senior pastor has attended a House Church Seminar in the past are allowed to attend. If the Senior Pastor does not know anything about House Church ministry but the members become excited about it, this can create major problems for the church.
Sunday worship is an important part of the seminar. You need to experience Spirit-filled Sunday worship in order to succeed in the house church implementation. Therefore, please register only if you can attend Sunday worship. Please make your departure flight after 3PM Sunday.
Please refrain from accepting any speaking engagements or visiting relatives until the completion of the seminar in order for you to be able to focus on the seminar.
Lodging will be provided by your hosting house church to which you will be assigned. Since each house church shepherd will be assigned two seminar attendees, there is a possibility that one may need to sleep on the floor. Your host will contact you to discuss details.
Your hosting house church will pick you up and drop you off at the airport. Since you will be contacted by your hosting house church shepherd, please share all your information in regards to your trip itinerary with him or her.
During the seminar, house church lecture material as wells as The Living Life Bible Study material will be covered. The Living Life Bible Study is an important part of house church ministry because it not only helps the older Christians but also shares the gospel and clearly explains Christianity to pre-Christians.
Please read “House Church” by Young G. Chai with Daniel Chai. You can order one from New Life Fellowship through the Church Center app where you register.
Childcare is not provided for participants and children are not allowed to attend any of the sessions of the seminar. If you and your spouse have young children but also would like to attend the seminar, we ask that you find trusted childcare for your children. Another option is that you and your spouse can take turns attending the seminar by having one attend this year and the other attend next year.
Participants are expected to attend the seminar in its entirety. Please do not make plans to be anywhere else other than at NLF during the schedule as seen below. Please do not make plans to arrive after 5PM on Tuesday and do not plan to depart Houston until after 3PM on Sunday.
Our cancellation deadline is January 31, 2024. If you cancel your registration after that date, you will forfeit your security deposit. If you cancel before that 11:59PM CST on January 31, 2024 you will have your security deposit returned.

The following are some of the things that will take place during the seminar:

Tuesday evening welcome reception dinner: You and your hosting shepherd will be seated together to enjoy the dinner and also to listen to testimonies from a house church shepherd and a house church member. You will then have an opportunity to introduce yourself in two minutes and express what you would like to gain from the seminar.
Wednesday house church meeting: You will meet with your hosting house church members and have an opportunity to share your salvation testimony, ministry calling, or your story of experiencing God in a powerful way that could be an encouragement to the members.
Friday house church meeting: You will experience a house church meeting as a regular house church member.
Group meetings: There will be two 3-5 member group meetings to practice life sharing. During the first meeting, you will share which elementary school you attended and the most memorable experience from your past. During the second meeting, you will share your happiest moment and your saddest moment in life.
On Saturday morning, there will be a Q & A session between the attendees and the New Life house church shepherds. You will submit your questions during the seminar and they will be used during the Q & A. After this, you will take about a minute to share your own plans for implementing house church ministry.
Small group house church discussion: On Saturday afternoon, there will be small group meetings led by New Life’s Village Leaders. You should have signed up for the small group you would like to attend during the online registration.
