The Most Precious Gift Given to Us

From the Pastor’s Desk (300)

Choosing a gift that truly brings joy to another person’s heart is no easy task. To do so, we must know what that person desires and what brings delight to the depths of their heart.

Yet we cannot fully know one another’s hearts. That is why, at times, cash becomes the safest gift—it allows the recipient to choose what they truly want.

But God is different. He knows us better than we know ourselves, and He understands even our weaknesses, longings, and needs that we cannot fully express in words.

Therefore, God prepared for us the most precious and perfect gift. That gift is Jesus Christ.

Long ago, through the prophet Isaiah, Jesus was introduced to us as:

Wonderful Counselor,

Mighty God,

Everlasting Father,

Prince of Peace.

As we journey through life, we need wisdom,

we need strength,

we need a Father who embraces us,

and we need true peace.

And all of this is found in Jesus.

This Christmas, may we experience heaven’s wisdom through Him, enjoy the warmth of His power, the Father’s embrace, and His peace—and may we become people who share Him as a gift in the lives of others.

And don’t forget that we will have our Christmas Eve worship service at 7:00 PM together with our KSC to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus. The gift we will bring to Him this year is “reconciliation.” Let us think about whom we need to be reconciled with and work on that until Christmas Eve.

Then, let us come together joyfully with that gift and say to our Lord, “Happy Birthday, Jesus! We thank You for giving us the gift of eternal life. Even if we had a thousand tongues, they would not be enough to express how thankful we are to You.”

Please also remember that we are the hosts for our KSC guests. If you are in town, please make sure to come at 6:00 PM to help set everything up and to welcome and greet our KSC members with love and respect. I am sure they will truly appreciate it and be delighted to worship Christ with us.

Your pastor,

Eric
