From the Pastor’s Desk (270)
In our last life coaching session for pastoral staff couples on May 24, Pastor Jabez came to life coaching saying he was tired and burning out. In response to this, I suggested he take a sabbatical and get some rest. Pastor Daniel Oh suggested that it was time for him to quit or restructure the youth ministry, so he will not burn out. Pastor Jabez did not agree with the suggestions presented in life coaching and resigned from his position on June 2.
Since his resignation, there have only been email exchanges between Pastor Jabez and me, and now Pastor Jabez feels he needs to resign because it is hard for him to work with me, and he does not feel supported by New Life pastoral staff.
Pastor Jabez served as our youth pastor for seven years and he worked very hard. It’s unfortunate he needs to resign. However, we believe he needs to rest from ministry, and we accept his resignation.
We trust in God’s goodness even at times like this. Let’s pray that God will protect and refresh Pastor Jabez and his family for His next assignment. Let’s also pray that God will protect New Life and help us to continue to be focused on fulfilling God’s desire with oneness and unity as one body of Christ.
Your pastor,
Eric
