If we keep inviting, some will come!

From the Pastor’s Desk (279)

My wife has been teaching ESL at a local university where there are tons of Muslims from various nations. She loves to share Jesus and house church whomever she meets and builds relationship with. Last year, she invited several of her students to our Game Night. I think about four students came and enjoyed the evening. When she asked if they wanted to visit a house church, three accepted the invitation and came. She also invited other students and connected them to another house church. They also came and visited.

About a year later, one is still coming out to house church. She and her dad were living in Houston separated from her mother and younger sister. But they were able to come to Houston just recently and got united to each other as a family.

Last Friday, she opened up her home for the first time and hosted house church. Her parents also wanted to know whom she is spending time with on Fridays. She and her mom made their traditional food, and our house church members all seemed to have enjoyed it. Now, we are praying for her and her entire household to come to know Christ.

There are people whom we can reach out to all around us. And many are simply waiting for us to come and invite them to our house church.

And the beauty of house church is that, unlike cold turkey street evangelism that often leaves the one who received Christ hanging because the one who shared the gospel has no place to connect him to, we have a house church that we can invite the VIPs to where they will be taken care of experiencing Christ’s love and community.

Harvest is plentiful, but workers are few.

If we keep inviting, some will come!

Your pastor,

Pastor Eric
